Turning the screws on crime in Sandgate

Feel free to come along to our upcoming anti-theft screw event

Sandgate Police are calling on you to secure your number plates to your car so that opportunistic thieves can not remove them.

Turn the screws is a police initiative where anti-theft screws can be fitted to your registration plates.

Taking this simple step not only helps to reduce the theft of number plates, but also reduces the possible offences that can then follow on from this theft.

These offences can include petrol drive offs, break and enters, traffic offences and armed robberies.

Having anti-theft screws on your car’s registration plates is encouraged if you regularly park your vehicle in shopping centres, train stations or leave your vehicle parked in the street.

We have an upcoming anti-theft screw event happening this week:

When: Saturday, July 20, 9.30am – 11.30am

Where: Einbunpin Lagoon car park, Sandgate (Brighton Road)

Cost: FREE!

Anti-theft screws for your vehicle will be provided on the day.
