Coronavirus Recession: 6 Reasons To Start A Company In A Downturn

Have you always wanted to start a business?

Start now! This is the best time. I'd like to argue that there probably won’t be a better moment anytime soon.

Here’s why, I strongly believe, you should start now:

  1. There’s little noise in the data in terms of market study: The COVID-19 Pandemic has helped to cut the crap out in the business world (we know what’s essential and what’s non-essential). Basically, we now know what works and what doesn’t. We know what can survive an economic crisis and what can’t. The clarity of thought and data analysis capabilities are at the highest level.
  2. There’s a slight drop in competition (The coronavirus pandemic is bankrupting small & medium businesses at a relentless pace). Lesser competition simply means faster sales and growth for your business.
  3. The markets are doing well, meaning there are people and firms willing to invest in essential and innovative businesses.
  4. In an objective to revive the economy, governments are giving out some interesting business tax incentives. Some banks are even offering lower interest rates on loans.
  5. Many highly-skilled talents are being furloughed. These highly-qualified amazing people will soon be on the job-market, ready to embrace new challenges and hiring them in these moments of hardship will be a huge advantage for your young business.
  6. Warning: never forget that if you don’t position your product/services as “ESSENTIAL”, chances are you’ll be wiped out by the next crisis or geopolitical conflict.

“ESSENTIAL” is the keyword here.

Positioning your business as “essential” isn’t an easy work to do.

It requires some deeply-embedded scientific working method and rigour that will help you to identify and uncover solutions to individual or collective problems.

This is the right moment to start. I believe you should embrace it.

To you success,

Michael
