Ketel One creates Botanical Spritz RTDs

Diageo-owned Ketel One vodka has expanded its low-alcohol Botanical series with three canned ready-to-drink products in the US.

The Ketel One Botanical Vodka Spritz RTD range has an ABV of 3.6%

The “first of its kind” Botanical range was released in May 2018. Comprising three flavours – Peach & Orange Blossom, Cucumber & Mint, and Grapefruit & Rose – the range is bottled at 30% ABV with no artificial flavours, no added sugar and no artificial sweeteners. The range contains just 73 calories per serving.

The Botanical series was created by 11th-generation family distillers Carl Nolet Jr and Bob Nolet to tap into the burgeoning low-ABV trend.

The new ready-to-drink (RTD) Botanical range is described as a “natural evolution” for the Nolet family. The product capitalises on the trend for portable formats, with RTD cocktails up 100% since 2019, according to Nielsen figures cited by Ketel One.

The Ketel One Botanical Vodka Spritz range comes in three varieties: Peach & Orange Blossom, Cucumber & Mint, and Grapefruit & Rose. Each Ketel One Botanical Vodka Spritz has an ABV of 3.6% and is only 73 calories per serving.

“We created Ketel One Botanical to appeal to the conscious consumer,” said Carl Nolet Jr. “We care as deeply about what goes into every bottle, as they care deeply about what they are eating and drinking. That sentiment rings truer than ever in a world where caring for ourselves and each other is a priority, and ease without sacrificing quality is so important.”

“Honouring our family’s legacy of ‘quality over everything’ while responding to a strong need for convenience, we are thrilled to launch our Ketel One Botanical Vodka Spritz. It’s the same fresh taste and delightful experience consumers expect from Ketel One in a new and exciting format.”

The RTD range is available from 1 September in Arizona, California, Nevada, Texas, Florida, New Jersey, Ohio, Washington and Illinois, for a suggested retail price of US$14.99 for a four-pack and US$3.99 for a single can.
